Thaw freeze thaw freeze
Despite today's thaw the general cover is still very good above 700 metres with all the gullies full of snow. With a few freeze thaw freeze cycles the climbing conditions should become really good on the easy to mid grade gully routes. The strong winds over the next few days are more likely to be a problem though...! The Cairngorm 'Scottish Avalanche Information Service' (SAIS) forecast has now started.
