Sunny Spain to Snowy Scotland

We've just returned after a great three weeks of hot dry rock climbing in Spain to a cold, icy and snowy Cairngorm. The weather was perfect for the whole three weeks rock climbing abroad and it now looks like the weather could be reasonable for some early season winter climbing in Scotland!
Cairngorm Mountain was open to skiers over the weekend and lots winter climbers also headed into the corries for some early season scratching... Despite it looking wintry with many buttress routes being climbed, conditions are still pretty thin and marginal at the moment, both for the skiing and for winter climbing. On Sunday the NE aspects seemed to have the best cover but with the strong NE winds closing the ski area and frequent snow showers down to low levels this evening the snow cover will have changed by Monday.
