Day two was an absolute gift and much better than we'd ever expected after the recent wild weather!
Firm snow ice, easily avoid slab, weird snow features, sun and very little wind on our hike up Cairngorm to the days climbing venue at Creagan Coire A' Cha-No.
Several large groups had the same idea with long queues for the abseil descent.
Fortunately most of the crags aren't on the topo so a away from the crowds we just picked the longest and most interesting rib line at around Grade 3/4.
We had fun, though apart from the bomber threads for belays, protection was hard won, on the steep snow and ice covered rock.
As we neared the finish the weather changed dramatically and we got hit by blizzards and strong winds finishing our new route - packing the snow plastered ropes and gear for the descent was fun! More photos and links on our Facebook page here.
