Guiding on Central Couloir Direct

The alpine east face of Cnap Coire na Spreidhe in the Cairngorms

Guided winter climbing in the Cairngorms

Winter climbing on Cnap Coire na Spreidhe

A truly alpine day with almost 400 metres of climbing and after leaving the col to descend to the crag base, no footprints or people heard or seen all day!!!!

Central Couloir Direct Topo

The red dots are belays spaced 45/50 metres apart on the lower rock band and this gave five fine long pitches up to the central snowfield before finishing up the Itsy Bitsy upper rock bands and a further four 50 metre pitches to the top of the crag!

Absolutely superb weather and stonker snow ice conditions on Cairngorm's Alpine Face and a new direct variation of Central Couloir for Shaun's day of guided winter climbing.
