Looking cold and wintry over the next few days...
Despite the recent thaw there's still extensive snow cover above 800 metres, in the gullies, coires and on the Cairngorm plateau.
It's looking cold and wintry over the weekend and early next week and this should quickly firm up the old snow pack and bring many of the easy to mid-grade gully based winter climbs into good winter condition.
There are still places available on the Winter Skills course we're running on the 22-23 March.
The weather and snow conditions will be awesome for the course and will give us plenty of crampon practise on good firm icy neve.
As conditions will be so good I'm running some last minute Guided Winter Climbing on the Monday... :-)
